Christmas should not be simplified, but it should not be complicated either. Christmas is not simply about Christ coming to earth. Not any more than Die Hard is about a man trying to reunite with his wife. No... there is much more to the story. What we as a band try to get at in this song is that Jesus did not act in His own accord against a cruel God... No, The Trinity was in complete unity and decided to save us as one even as He is One, the Lord your God (hear, O Israel). So momentous was this decision (even though it was decided before the foundation of the world (Eph 1:4)), that the Angels, whose full occupation is to worship the Lord, took a break to come to earth to see what was about to happen! All of the Angels and all of heaven were bending down, listening to see the newborn cries of God with us. So amazed were the angels that they called the only humans they could find who weren't so busy they could write them off - they found the outcasts, the shepherds, and to them cried "Glory to God".
